Beach Body
Update on working with those Tony Horton Power90 videos: I still haven't consistently used them all in succession. There was the honey-moon phase where I used them just before Ariana was born. Then I went into an exercise hiatus from late March to about the beginning of June. These last few weeks I've been slowly adapting my body to consistent exercise again. The only video I followed was the ab workout and I was quite surprised that the second time I tried it since starting up again, I was able to go through the entire workout nonstop. When I tried it the third time the week after, I was stunned when I was able to go through it all, rest about ten minutes, then do a few minutes more of whatever ab exercise I wanted to do. The fourth time, which was a week and a half ago, I did the workout, rested for five minutes, then did even more of my own ab routine than before.
The only cardio I've been doing consistently is half-hearted martial movement. Other than that, I would walk up the hill next to my house, which is what I did to jump-start my exercise regimen. I only did that twice since the first week of June. Then two nights ago, I thought I would do some brisk walking for half an hour. Next thing I knew I jogged 3/4 mile and I wasn't even winded! I stopped when I didn't even need to! I hope to do that more often as the summer rolls on.
I need all the motivation I can get to keep this up, so here are the most prominent thoughts in my mind that spurs me on:
1) It's summer and I know one of these days I'll be taking off my shirt in public. Don't wanna scare people.
2) My supervisor planned on losing 10 lbs by July 25 and I ended up going along with it so we're competing to reach whatever goals we set for ourselves. Mine is to lose 10 lbs, but also to get back in fighting trim using the same fitness goals I had from last year. I tweaked it a little to make it more manageable, but it's essentially the same.
3) A friend of mine in the area lost 40 lbs since February and I think a little more since last month. He did it through sheer determination and hard work. And, of course, he had to depend on God's strength to be successful.
4) Hearing about any successes you three have in your journey to keep fit and healthy. So that means, please keep telling me what you've been doing! Or if you haven't done much recently that you're now motivated to do something, which would then motivate me, and so on.
